LIUNA helps place ARP participants into quality construction jobs and apprenticeship opportunities, ensuring a smooth transition from training to long-term, well-paid careers in the trades.

. The Apprenticeship Readiness Program (ARP) partners with the New Mexico Building and Construction Trades Council to open pathways into high-demand union careers. Through this collaboration, participants gain exposure to multiple skilled trades, hands-on training, and direct connections to apprenticeship opportunities with union contractors across the region.

The Apprenticeship Readiness Program (ARP) works closely with UA Local 412 to prepare and connect participants to careers in the piping trades, including plumbing, pipefitting, HVAC, and welding. Through this partnership, participants receive hands-on training, industry-recognized certifications, and direct pathways into UA Local 412’s registered apprenticeship programs and union contractor network.

The Apprenticeship Readiness Program (ARP) partners with IBEW Local 611 to prepare participants for careers in the electrical trades. Through this collaboration, trainees gain essential hands-on experience, safety certifications, and direct access to IBEW’s registered apprenticeship and union contractor network—creating a clear pathway to stable, high-wage careers in the electrical industry.

The Apprenticeship Readiness Program (ARP) is a proud partner of the Workforce Integration Network (WIN), a regional initiative funded through the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Good Jobs Challenge Grant. This partnership supports ARP in building sustainable pipelines into high-quality construction careers by expanding training capacity, strengthening employer connections, and providing supportive services to help participants succeed. Together, WIN and ARP are aligning education, workforce, and industry partners to create equitable access to good jobs across New Mexico.

The Apprenticeship Readiness Program (ARP) partners with UA Local 669, the Sprinkler Fitters Union, to introduce participants to careers in fire protection and life safety systems. Through this collaboration, participants learn about specialized piping systems, gain exposure to union apprenticeship opportunities, and connect directly with contractors who install and maintain fire sprinkler systems across the region.

UA Local 412 Outreach & Education Foundation partners with SMART Local 49 to create direct pathways from the ARP/MC3 program into registered apprenticeship. SMART Local 49 supports participant success by offering work-experience placements with signatory contractors, giving graduates real jobsite exposure and a clear transition into their Sheet Metal apprenticeship program. This collaboration strengthens industry alignment and ensures ARP participants have immediate, hands-on opportunities that lead to long-term careers in the skilled trades.

UA Local 412 Outreach & Education Foundation partners with the University of New Mexico – Taos to expand access to construction career pathways in northern New Mexico. UNM Taos oversees three high school dual-credit Apprenticeship Readiness (MC3) programs across Taos County, providing students with college credit while introducing them to the building trades. Our organization supports these programs by providing technical assistance, instructor training, curriculum guidance, and industry alignment to ensure students gain the foundational skills, certifications, and career awareness needed to transition into registered apprenticeship or continued technical education after graduation.

We also partner with Northern New Mexico College to support MC3 dual-credit programs in Española-area high schools. NNMC delivers the coursework, and our organization provides technical assistance to ensure strong curriculum alignment and clear pathways into registered apprenticeship.

UA Local 412 Outreach & Education Foundation partners with the ABC Community School Partnership to support and expand construction career pathways at West Mesa High School. Through this collaboration, our organization delivers the MC3 Apprenticeship Readiness course on campus, providing students with hands-on exposure to the building trades, industry-recognized certifications, and direct connections to apprenticeship opportunities. ABC Community Schools helps coordinate school support, student recruitment, and integration into the broader community-school model, while we supply instructors, curriculum support, and technical expertise to ensure a strong, career-aligned program for West Mesa students.

UA Local 412 Outreach & Education Foundation partners with Future Focused Education to expand apprenticeship readiness opportunities for high school students. Through funding provided by Future Focused Education via the McCune Foundation, our organization is launching the MC3 program at Del Norte High School. This partnership supports program start-up, student recruitment, and integration into the school’s career pathway system, while we deliver the curriculum, technical assistance, and industry connections needed to prepare students for entry into registered apprenticeship after graduation.
